Big collection, really big. Not really into all the medieval religious art, some good renaissance art though & the Modernists stuff was nice too. Also the building itself is really nice, I think we'll be back to visit the restaurant the menu looked good. After we were thrown out we sat on the outside terrace and had a glass of cava and enjoyed the view.

"The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is the national museum of Catalan visual art situated on Montju´c hill at the end of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, near Pl Espanya. The museum is especially notable for its outstanding collection of romanesque church paintings (taken in the 1920s from decaying 11-12th Century Churches in the Pyrenees), and for Catalan art and design from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including modernisme and noucentisme. The Museum is housed in the Palau Nacional, a huge, Italian-style building built for the 1929 International Exhibition. In 1990 a renovation process was launched to refurbish the site. The Oval Hall was reopened in 1992 for the Olympic Games, and the various collections were installed from 1995 (when the Romanesque Art section was reopened) to 2004."

Then off to Las Arenas shopping centre for dinner. Followed by a charming stroll home along Paral-lel to casa parlament
"Las Arenas is a shopping mall in Plaša Espanya that was once a bullfighting ring.  The complex is the modern incarnation of the historic Las Arenas bullfighting ring, many of whose original architectural details have been incorporated.   The mall, which has a beautiful neo-Mudejar facade dating back to 1900, has had a stupendous domed roof added to its emblematic striped Moorish arches. The remodelling of the long-abandoned bullring was completed in 2011 after many years of planning and construction.  Las Arenas now has six floors of shops cafes, restaurants and bars, a twelve-screen cinema and a rooftop terrace with spectacular panoramaic views of the city."
