Day : 270
Temperature : 32 degrees
Weather : Sunny mornings, showery afternoons, thundery evenings

Having trundled all of our shopping down to Palomino, we spent the next two days totally pigging out on fruit and vegetables. Utter bliss. It definitely reminds you of how much is taken for granted back home when you find yourself travelling and unable to get any proper food for literally days or weeks on end. Then, when finally you tuck into a bowl of granola, yogurt and fresh mango, pineapple and banana it is truly breakfast heaven! Top it off with a cup of tea (sorry, it's a British thing!!!) then it's simply perfect. I don't need to tell you our reaction when we spotted cheese, French bread and wine in imagination needed.

We met up again with Jo and Neil who we'd met in Cabo de la Vela. They have been travelling for a few months and are due to head home soon. It was sheer coincidence that we'd spotted them from our sunloungers as they wandered down the beach looking for a place to stay. That evening we cooked up a delicious meal of pasta and vegetables and they provided yet more wine. They too were feeling the effects of the poor diet. Later on we were treated to yet another incredible lightening show. Feeling brave I tried to watch it from the beach, but when an enormous bolt of lightening struck the ocean with deafening sound out of nowhere, and a little too close for comfort, I almost had a heart attack and legged it back to the house for cover. We sat under the shelter of the house for hours as the electrical storm passed overhead.

This morning we said our goodbyes to Jo and Neil. They will be staying on in Palomino for a few days and we are planning to head to Minca for some bird watching before we head to the tiny little Caribbean Island of San Andres.

Hey, so nice to read your posts. I'm trying to make up my mind between going to Cabo or Palomino, what is the name of the hostel you were staying at in Palomino?

Sorry, my first post was hardly polite, I got too excited when I read such nice things about Palomino :] I'm leaving for Colombia in 4 days and am frantically looking for all info I might need. If you could tell me where you were staying in Palomino, I'd appreciate it. The places I've seen on the web so far are either too basic or too expensive for me... Cheers!

Looks really beautiful in Palomino. I'm wondering too which hostel you did stay in.
