Day : 322
Temperature : 32 degrees
Weather : Hot and humid and thundery afternoons

Ok, time is flying. It's been about a week since my last blog...where did that week go?

We spent the remainder of our time in Punta Sal doing well, not very much, which was very nice. We left Peru a couple of days ago on the bus. We heard lots of horror stories about the border crossing from Peru to Ecuador, but actually we had aboslutely no trouble at all. Apart from the grumpy immigration officer doing his best to stamp my passport in any old random manner, completely ruining yet another half a page on my passport!! GRRRR!

Well, Ecuador is hot and steamy and green. Much greener than Peru, and if the torrential, thunderous downpours of last night are anything to go by, then that will be the reason why.  We checked into a lovely little hostel set up on a hill. It's peaceful and tranquil and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with swimming pool and hammocks, and a lovely green lawn to relax on.

We have been organising ourselves for the Galapagos and doing much research on the various islands, the diving and the wildlife. We have booked ourselves onto a diving liveaboard for one week when we are there...yay! Amongst other places, we will be heading to Darwin and Wolf Islands aboard the boat Deep Blue, and are VERY excited!  The Deep Blue is is one of only four boats which go to these islands, which are generally accepted as THE best dive sites in the world to see large, pelagic animals....picture waters teeming with life.... schools of hammerhead sharks, galapagos sharks, manta rays, mobula rays, dolphins, sea lions, and if you are lucky whale sharks!!!!  We are hoping that this will be the best diving of our lives! Unfortunately, the company doesn't accept credit cards! And so we have just had to desposit a large sum of money into a random Ecuadorian bank account...yes, we are well aware....it sounds oh so  dodgy. But, we have thoroughly checked out the situation, the company and the boat...and it's all legitimate. So, hopefully we will be soon be sailing off into the horizon in search of hammerhead and manta adventures!

Ok folks, that's all for now, better get packed, tomorrow we will be in the Galapagos....stay tuned......................the next few weeks will be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
