Day : 198

Temperature : 23 degrees
Weather : Sunny

We took the Southern Scenic Route down to the South Coast which took about 7 hours with all our stops! It was a long day. In fact I don't quite know why it took us so long 'cos the guide said it should take 4 and a half hours. I think Harold was maybe a bit tired from the past few days of travelling, I know we were!

Anyway, not much else to say on this blog, other than that Harold found us the most amazing spot on our trip so far for camping for that night. This area was wild! A rocky bay with roaring and crashing waves. Although it wasn’t particularly windy when we were there, it seems that they get a bit of a breeze here from time to time….the trees here were all leaning at a 30 degree angle and were completely bare on the windward side. We took the opportunity to do a bit of laundry, letting the wind dry it in super fast time. We took the compulsory sunset photos and watched the huge waves crashing onto the rocks for ages….glass of wine in hand of course! Oh, and we managed to extend our use of Harold for another 3 days! Great!

Next stop….The Catlins.
