Woke up early to be @ the rental car place by 8am to pick up the car. It was a little piece of shit, Hyundai but just fine as it was a car. I did very well driving and had no problems. The airport's about 40 min from Ringwood so I was early as I was expecting rush hour traffic but there was none as we forgot that it was Labor Day, pubic holiday! Circled the terminal about 6 times and had some jackass threaten to give me a ticket! He didn't come up and say, I'm going to give you a ticket but just starting writing one, so I drove up to him and asked him what he was doing!??!? I then drove off as if he can't give me the ticket that equals I didn't get a ticket... whatever. So anywho, finally parked as Colleen and Jon still weren't to be found hour after their flight was to have arrived. Went inside and sure enough the flight from Sydney had been delayed however they had just landed. They got their stuff and we were on our way! We stopped back at home, chatted a bit to Shan as he had the day off, April didn't but was getting double pay so aok. We then set off for the Yarra Valley. It's about a 40 min drive from Ringwood so not too bad at all. It was good to see Colleen and Jon and check in w/ how the Newlyweds were going. Sure enough, they were going well as they were still married:-) I find it entertaining the methods couples will develop while in relationships to deal w/ the other person... sweet. So anywho, Colleen and Jon did lots of wine tasting and I did a little as I was the driver... Colleen thought it would be entertaining to say I was boyfriend tasting... ah, the fun of being single and having your family and friends try and hook you up with friends and even better, complete strangers. Coincidentally, I had just started reading Bridget Jones's Diary (finished that and the sequel in a week) but I feel much of her pain being a single female and can relate very much to her neurosis's.
Anywho, back to wine tasting... We tasted quite a few Pinots, Chardonnays, Shirazes, Cabernets, Merlots, etc. Not many dessert wines which Colleen and I are big fans of, so we went on a quest and found a nice sweet double picked Riesling at the Allinda winery. We both bought a bottle of that and Colleen and Jon had picked up an additional bottle earlier so the day was successful!!!! We got home late that afternoon feeling warm and toasty and had dinner w/ April and Shannon although mainly just Shan as April was next door at the neighbors helping w/ an "emergency."
