At 9:00 this morning, we went to the meeting room to hear Dawson Creek's travel ambassador, Keltie, give a presentation about the town's history and the building of the Alaska Highway.  She was an animated, enjoyable and knowledgeable speaker.

We are on our own to explore the area, so Art and I have decided to travel 60 miles to the town of Chetwynd that is known for its display of chainsaw carvings.  Our friend from Fenwick Marina, Jerry France, has taken up chainsaw carving and is rather talented.  We thought he might enjoy seeing our pictures.
We had lunch at the A & W Root Beer in Chetwynd and returned to Northern Lights RV Park in the late afternoon.

Ron and Hazel have limped in from Grande Prairie without an air filter with our trusty Tailgunners bringing up the rear.  Ron has to drive back to Grande Prairie in the morning to pick up the air filter that was ordered and Art has volunteered to ride along.  They won't be traveling in the RV.  Ron will drive his SUV to Grand Prairie.  Hmmm, kinda sounds like a country song just waiting to be composed.

Anyway, we joined the limpers, Ron and Hazel, our Wagonmasters, Les and Jean, and our Tailgunners, Richard and Virginia for dinner at the George Dawson Inn, the same place we ate last night.  Les and Jean wanted to make sure that the others, who had missed the previous night's dinner, got treated fairly, and they even unexpectedly picked up our check, too.  Nice!
