June 29 - The 238 miles from Billings to Great Falls, Montana were some of the more picturesque that we have encountered. With grasslands, rock formations, trees, windmills, cattle, sheep, antelope, mule deer, and mountains, this stretch of highway had just about everything a sightseer could ask for.
The only negative was a 10 mile construction zone that was gravel. The workers had watered it to cut down on the dust, but that only made it turn into a cementlike mixture that coated the coach, PT and car hauler. Art was a bit perturbed, to say the least, since he had spent all morning at the campsite spiffing up the vehicles.
Before we arrived in Great Falls, I checked on the internet for a truck wash
Great Falls should have the moniker, "Little Vegas," because, I kid you not, there is a casino everywhere you look. We started to count them, but ran out of fingers and toes. We wondered if they were “real” casinos or the arcade-type that frequent strip malls in Florida, so we stopped at one across the street from the RV park. It turns out that they are the “fake” kind; however, they had a poker table, which I found a bit appealing – uhh, just a tad, a mere glint of attraction - like a bee to honey! Poker will have to wait for another day though, because we needed to go to the grocery store. Is food more important than poker?
So we’ll be at Dick’s RV Park for 4 days. The remainder of the rigs that make up our caravan should begin to trickle in, as everyone is to be here by July 1.
