As we approach Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the landscape is really starting to change. There are many more pine groves and odd little rock formations that pop up out of nowhere.
Art and I are practicing safe gambling. You wouldn't believe all of the casinos we are passing up! But then if we stopped at one of those, we would have to skip by Art's most anticipated stop...the Mall of America!
So, the Mall wasn't THAT spectacular. Just four levels of lots of stores, albeit some unusual ones not found in other malls, and roller coasters. We didn't get around the whole mall and I'm inclined to think that I'd be more impressed if I were to return there with some real shoppers rather than with Art
The QVC store was fun. I got a pair of Joan Rivers reading glasses and Art got sunglasses that he can wear over his regular glasses. I also splurged on a Diamonique simulated peridot ring. It was a whopping $39 - a far cry from the $6000 yellow diamond that I fell in love with on our Royal Caribbean cruise in May - but, honestly, it doesn't look too bad.
We spent some time looking in a cooking store where we ended up with a bottle of maple praline syrup and a huge appetite. From the many places to eat in the food court, we picked Bubba Gump's. It was a cute place with lots of memorabilia from the movie, "Forrest Gump."
After the mall, we traveled about 30 miles to Camping World where we are spending the night. They have RV parking in the rear parking lot of their retail store with free, yes, free, electrical hookups. There are several other campers here taking advantage of Camping World's hospitality.
