We stopped in Pisa, on our way to Siena, and spent the morning on the tower plaza with hundreds of tourists and two blocks of stalls hawking tacky tourist souveniers. Someone actually bought the 12 Euro plastic tower of Pisa lamp we were going to bring home! Darn.
