I do, however, manage my 2 stages from my 3-stage breakfast of virtue. This is good.
We make it to swimming. We leave vaguely on time but unexpected and unappreciated traffic makes us late. We are a little late for swimming but Woody gets straight in and gets on with it.
I run into one of the preschool mums poolside and we chat. Woody swims brilliant. We go along for a few weeks and think he is not making much progress, and then I look up and he is swimming a pretty good freestyle
We head home, rustle up some brekkie and tidy ourselves up. We are then out the door again. We drop Woody at his literacy class and then Noah drops me down at the park and heads back to wait for the Woodster.
At the park I interview at lady who has emigrated from Derbyshire to the Gold Coast for my column. We grab takeaway coffees (when I say coffee, I had dishwater weak lemongrass tea) and we wander around the park and find a spot on the grass in the sun. We sit and chat and have a lovely time.
Noah comes to collect me and we head home where Woody finishes his lunch and I cook and inhale lunch in about 20 seconds, grab an apple and jump in the car and we are on our way to a playgroup.
Woody is pretty good. He is does not play up but his face goes very pink and he seems a bit out of sorts. He spends a long time sorting out of his shoes laces and he really isn't engaging with it. I ask him if he is feeling alright, he says he is, but I don’t think he is.
We head outside to play and Woody finds the tap tap boards which he loves, so he spends a long time hammering little bits of wood into a cork board. He just puts random stuff everywhere and belatedly titles it 'mr topsy-turvey’s house’. It works for me. He then plays a game where he has to work out what objects are by feeling them and not looking at them. He cheats. He cannot help it.
We then do some puzzles, make a brain, draw pictures to represent happy and sad (lions make him happy!) and then a game with puppets. A pretty jam packed time.
We head home and Woody is shattered. And very almost falls asleep whilst pretending to be asleep.
Woody just plays for an hour or so, watches some tv, have a toasted sandwich for dinner and then has a quick bath and is asleep.
I make fabulous pasta for Noah and me with spinach and walnuts. So tasty! Noah works the evening and I try and work but give in a doze off. Noah burns the midnight oil.
Sleep well people. x
