At swimming Woody does well and seems to be having a ball. He is smiling constantly. Noah and I chat about the work things we could not get our heads around last night. A decent night’s sleep has made us slightly cleverer than we were yesterday. This is no bad thing.
After swimming we intend to head home, but then we see a film crew and have a quick detour to the waterfront to see if we can see any mermaids. We do not see any mermaids so we head home
At home Woody is delighted to have a parcel. It is a shield from Nannypapa to go with Woody’s 'mike the knight’ helmet. Woody is over the moon – loves it instantly and cannot work out how it has been made. He thinks they may have traced around a puppet? Thanks nannypapa – he is just delighted and has been talking about it all day!
I make the best omelette in the world, and Noah and I finish our conversation about what exactly this business is going to do and how much we will charge people for the good things that we do. We get some clarity and it feels good. I like clarity.
Woody plays Superheros pretty much constantly. He rescues bears, hides behind furniture for quick changes into his super suit, and generally wanders around with his chest puffed up and his hands on his hips. He is taking the whole Super hero thing pretty seriously.
Noah and Woody pops back down to the waterfront to see if any mermaids have emerged at the filming. They haven’t. But Woody is happy enough to chat to the film crew
Back at home I make a pack lunch, pack up some bits to return to the toy library, and my slight cold of this morning becomes a full blown leaking face. My eyes and nose are streaming and my head may well be made of lead. Aaargh.
Noah pops home to get his pack lunch and the fellas head off to a play group based on reading and comprehension. I think Woody is pretty chuffed to have Noah there and Noah enjoys himself too.
Back at home I listen to my audio book, tidy the kitchen, prepare some baking for later, have some lunch and do various other things I have been meaning to do for ages. I also take a cold and flu tablets which stops my face from leaking. I start work in a new and very beautiful (in a rustic way) leather notebook. I bought it for Noah a trillion years ago in Florence, and my favourite vegetarian had an aversion to the excess of leather, and strong leather smell coming from the book so he did not use it
When the fellas get back, Noah works and Woody and I bake Anzac biscuits and scones. He is not much help and just wants to taste test things.
Woody watches some Wiggles and I cook some dinner.
We eat, Woody has a bath and goes to bed. We muck around for a bit with Elwood’s walkie-talkies. We decide we will leave one walkie talkie by Noah so if Woody needs anything in the night he can just call. Woody thinks this is hilarious (and so do I) and Woody has plans to get Noah to get him cereal in the morning and bring me a cup of tea.
I sort out my fundraising ideas for preschool for a meeting tomorrow and an updated Weekly plan for Woody. We also have a terrific chat with the Awesomestows which just makes our day.
Our house in cold. I don’t know why, but it seems to have its own microclimate. It is always warmer outside than it is inside. But I am not one to complain....
