Woody wakes and bounds all over me until Grandma's alarm goes off, and then he is in there like a shot. Mum gets up and does the exercise routine straight away, as I should be doing. But I relish the extra sleep just too much.

I let Woody 'help’ Grandma with her exercises.  He notices she does start jumps differently to the instructors and insists on pointing this out to her again and again.  And when she can’t get her legs high enough in those reverse sit up things, he gives her legs a bit of a push.  It is very funny.  He is happy to help...

We all razz around and get ready.  This involves looking up bus times, checking invites, packing lunches, printing hairstyles and making sure Woody has his ‘special news’.  And we leave the house on time.  Winners.

At school, we chat to the teachers, make Zumba plans, chat about ‘special news’. Chat about haircuts, and to Woody’s absolute delight he gets to hand out his birthday party invitations.  He is very excited and the Gruffalo themed party invite seems well received.  Super exciting times for our little boy.  He has wanted a party since we arrived in oz and we are going to go all out on this one.

We say our farewells (although Woody does not notice, as he is too busy playing...) and then Mum and I head to the hairdressers clutching our discount vouchers.  We arrive, they are running late, and we have the chance to grab lattes.  Excellentness.

The hairdresser cuts Mum’s hair first and does a super stunning job.  I love it.  And then the mothership disappears into Brisbane to the Treasury Casino with Grandma Molly.  And then it is my turn.  First of all a splash of bleach to highlight my ‘natural’ blondeness.  One whiff of that bleach and I am feeling better already!

My hair takes a long time, and it is being combined with someone else’s colour – but when this fella gets chopping I can see he is going to do a stonking job.  And he does lots of clever type shaping things with scissors which almost manages to make my hair look like it has some body.  I am very happy.  And the price, $99 all in for the two of us and a promise for the same deal again for me next time.  I am a super happy woman with swishy hair and a new hairdresser.

By this time it is 12.30pm.  (I told you it took ages!)  I popped to the shops and bought some bits and accidentally ate an entire bag of jelly beans.

On the way home I called into a terrific little shop where this ex-teacher runs literacy classes and makes all her own stimulus for teaching kids literacy and numeracy.  She is super lovely and we have an excellent chat and Woody will be joining her literacy session next week.  I am super, super excited.

Back at home, I talk at Noah for quite a while as I think the jellybeans have kicked in.  We eat lunch, and Noah finds a stray jellybean in the car and I confess my gluttony.  Noah gets back to work and I tidy up, sort of.

Unbelievably, it is then time to get Woody.  When we get there all the kids are eating afternoon tea in the garden.  Woody has had a terrific day.

Woody has made a poppy and now knows even more about remembrance.  I am very proud.  And all the children made and were give medals today.  Woody is very happy with this.  He is reluctant to leave preschool – he has had such fun.

Back at home, Woody has a rest, Noah fetches some booze, and I do some housework.

And then it is back out the door.  Woody and I are going to a friends for dinner.  Woody is delighted to be playing at someone’s house and the 3 boys enjoy some pretty boy-ish chaos involving pirate ships and angry birds. We have a terrific dinner and chocolate cake and we say our goodbyes before the chocolate cake kicks in.

At home again, I get Woody ready for bed quickly, we read, and then he is asleep in a heartbeat.

Noah offers to get dinner started and then I reveal we have eaten, and it is just him that hadn’t – ooops – I thought I had mentioned that.....

And that is us for today.  I need to tidy the house sometime between now and 7,45 am (yikes).  I am toying with the idea of watching a show which promises to show a man addicted to collecting shower drain hair and a woman who secretly breaks apart walls to feed her addiction to eating drywall. Quality.

Good night good people.
