Woody is very restless all night. I sleep on a mattress in his room and having me nearby seems to relax him.  He wakes in the night quite upset pretty much at the exact time he is due more medicine.  I manage to tip a load of paracetemol all over the bedding and then all over Elwood.  When I have finished doing this I manage to tip cough medicine all over him.  At this point, I decide I should turn a light on.  I create a massive fiasco about cleaning it up and Woody looks very relieved to go back to asleep.

He is awake a couple of hours later feeling crook again. This is what happens until around 6 when he does not go back to sleep.

After while Noah and I do a relay thing and I have a snooze and Noah gets up with Woody.

Woody is pretty lethargic but super sweet. The fellas watch Madagascar.

When I get up Woody just wants to cuddle and chat.  Noah sorts out a bed for the Mothership as more stock has arrived at Ikea.  We decide what we are going to get and Woody puts his opinion in when we are contemplating price v comfort on mattresses.  Woody says, 'we want Grandma to feel welcome or she will just get back on the plane'.  As always Mum, Woody has your back and we get you the more expensive and undoubtedly more comfortable mattress.  And Noah heads back up to Logan to buy it and organise delivery.  Good stuff.

Woody and I make a lion den by a lake.  He gets his lion toys and they all lie down in the den.  Woody puts his lion hat on and lies down and looks at books but does not sleep.  He looks broken.

After a while we leave the lion den and Woody lies down in our bed and we read various Mr Men stories and he drifts off into a restless sleep.  At least he is getting some sort of rest.

I have a bash at sorting through the boxes of old photos in the spare room so it’s nice for Mum.  As I do this I realise this has been a bit of a ‘monkey on my back’ and has been weighing me down.  The more I sort the more I have to sort.  I create a pretty big mess, and Noah gets home and we have some lunch and chat.

Woody wakes up feeling rough.  He surprises us by saying he is hungry and eats some toast and has a couple of drinks.  We are very pleased.

The fellas play lions and Lego quietly all afternoon.

I head back to the dentist to be talked through x-rays and to see suitability for a student to work on a dental implant for me.  The good news is I am a perfect candidate apparently but I have to go back for another appointment next week.  That is the deal with going to the university dentist, you have to go through the process of a lot more appointments, a professional and a student, but it is free.  So I am okay with this.

After this I head to the shops and stock up on medicines for Woody tonight.  We do not want to be caught short.  I then have a look at bed linen etc for the motherships swanky new bed.  We are torn as to get something mum likes and something we like...

I decide to go for coffee and mull over my to do list.  I write a lot of things down and do not cross many things off.  This not ideal.  At least now I have a better grasp on what I haven’t done, which is always good.

I then buy more shopping.  Grrrr

Back at home Woody is shattered.  He wants to go straight to bed.  So we clean him up, he has a drink and then off to bed for him.  After a while he falls into a restless sleep.

Noah and I do boring stuff like tidy the kitchen and fold a mountain of laundry and watch big loser.

And then Woody is awake.  Coughing and crying and catching his breath.  We almost fling him in the car to go to the hospital but we calm a little and so does he.

Woody is now sitting up in the lounge room watching Madagascar and wheezing.  Noah and I are very stressed, and frankly, a little over Madagascar.

So, let’s see what tonight has in store for us.  I am sensing their will not be a lot of sleep at ours tonight.  Luckily, we are pretty practiced at sleep deprivation.

Goodnight lovely people. x
