As usual, we pull up at the preschool and he does not want to know us. He is straight in there playing.
Pretty much like yesterday, Noah and I come home and look for work. Noah makes lots of calls and sends CV's and I try to get on with some bits but I am thwarted by a giant bill from Telstra which arrives in our letterbox with a thud. It’s a long story, and one which makes me cross, but essentially they have charged me 24months rental up front, rather than a small amount a month. After much to’ing and fro’ing they tell me they can give me $100 discount, but cannot split this bill over 24 months
Then I do some housework. I won’t go in detail. Even I am not that dull!
Noah gets a call that he has a work meeting tomorrow. High Five!
Next, Noah and I have a working lunch. I draw up a spreadsheet about the size of Woody and Noah and I brainstorm everything we have to do to start a business and then plot it on the spreadsheet. We are extending our initial 12 week deadline to 15 weeks. The deadline is Friday 13th of April. Tick, tick, tick – let’s see if we can do it!
We have a sense of achievement with this and scoot down to get Woody with a spring in our step.
Woody has a brilliant time at preschool (surprise, surprise) and has painted the most amazing picture ever of Noah and me. Noah and I love it so much. I look quite glamorous and Elwood has captured Noah’s Lady Di hairstyle.
Elwood’s teacher tells me she had to have words with Woody today. Oh –oooo. When they were painting Woody tipped a bucket of water on someone. The teacher asked him why he did it, and he said he thought it would be funny
She also told me what the other children call Woody at preschool. I kid you not; they call him ‘The Man’. He wears that check hat he always wears (the one you bought him Andrea!) and the children think it is a man’s hat. So, they refer to Woody as ‘the man’. For example, they said ‘The man just tipped a bucket of water on Yoshi’. The teachers were thinking what man – turns out that’s Woody. Love it.
We head out so Noah can take some photos and get his haircut in preparation for his meeting and we call in at the beach. Bad, bad move. Woody is completely disagreeable. Grrr. We do not stay long at all and realise we really have to feed and bath this fella and get him fast asleep asap. So we head home and I Woody wrangle and Noah prepares for tomorrow.
Once Woody is asleep I try and get on with some of my jobs, but I am thwarted by the fact I ripped up the to do list and chucked it in the bin by mistake. What a tit. We are also starving hungry but we do not want dinner as we have just cleaned the kitchen (we are so so lazy!) so we have muesli bars for dinner. I am quite the domestic goddess these days...
So that is us. We forgot to inject the fun into today but we have a sense of achievement and we both feel truly inspired.
But fun, tomorrow, for sure.
Good night. Much love. x
