Boxing Day morning Woody awakes very excited.  He remembers he has an electric toothbrush and wants to brush his teeth the second his eyes open.  Strange, but good.
We spend the morning, looking at our finances.  Blurgh.  And then we decide to go shopping.  Huh?  It made sense at the time.
We have a good play on the beach and when it gets too hot we head to Pacific Fair, and then we spend the remainder of the morning looking for a car park.  We are winners, as we get one undercover, in a very sought after section of the car park.  We feel like winners.
We buy Woody another sun shirt – apparently in Oz you need a few of these.  Exhausted by this exertion and the heat – we decide to head to the cinema.  That’s a proper boxing day.  We arrive just as Happy Feet 2 is about to start.  We grab a hot dog for the little fella, popcorn and caffeine – and we are all happy.
Woody love, love, loves the film.  Every time I looked over at him he was beaming.  Happy Days.
When we got out I was drawn into Myers by their ‘gift with purchase’ offer and happily handed over my birthday voucher in exchange for a bag of goodies.
Our next stop is the supermarket to buy supplies for  a bit of a puff pastry cook-a-thon I have planned.
We  sling the groceries in the door at home, and head down to the rock pools.  It is late afternoon and still hotter than the sun.
Woody plays in the rock pools and Noah and I take it in turns to follow Woody around reminding him to stop running and not to splash other kids.
We head home and Woody is super  tired.  We give him some dinner and get him ready for bed, and he happily falls asleep.
Noah and I watch a movie, Usual Suspects, which  start off just half watching and then end up engrossed in.  We have the same conversation we have been having periodically.  The one that goes something along the lines of, ‘we have to stop being on holiday, we have to get jobs, we have to get in a bit of a routine, blah, blah, blah’.  We say all the right things and agree that the holiday really must  end on the 28th and that we really must seriously get back to real life.  And then we agree we should start a business and spend the rest of the evening trying to think of business names . This is fun (but perhaps not so productive....).
Next, I have a look at the ‘to do’ list.  This is not fun.  It suddenly zaps me of all my energy and enthusiasm and I head to bed – leaving the puff pastry cook-a-thon for another day.
Good night good people.  Please send us motivational vibes.  Xx
