Where I stayed
Quite a short drive today, just as well – as Elwood had no intention of spending all day in the car.
We drove through the ‘Schmoookkkkkeeeees’ and into South Carolina. Nothing eventful to report with the exception of my crazy sign loving husband demanding I take photos, and a weird smell permeating from our sausage eating son in the back seat.
Oh, there is something worth a mention in terms of the signs. They kind of change as you head into the Carolinas. They become all about the guns, the pawn, the beer, the cigarettes and the bait. Gone are the pretty neon signs of yesterday. Hello to guns, pawn and liquor.
We checked into our hotel and then decided to find somewhere for Woody to let off some steam. So we headed to a park where Noah dealt with some bad things which happened in Elwood’s travel potty. I do not know the details. All I know is they were a long time, and Elwood returned bright eyed and bushy tailed and Noah has not really been the same since.
We then went for a swim which we all loved. We met a lovely Irish family and chatted about the perils of travelling with little people and generally just chilled.
We then headed to WalMart for evening supplies of ready meals, fruit, and sweet, sweet liquor. Because, that’s how we roll.
We are looking forward to a quiet night of catching up with friends on email and Noah drinking cans of beer the size of his head and me drinking my four pack of wine. Lovely. Good night good people.
