Klenske, Ink.
Nothing quite prepares you. You see images of it all your life, yet when you get there you have to sit down and take it all in. In a sense, this is where it all begins. The Acropolis on a Friday evening, virtually free of any crowds. Me and the Parthenon, one on one. With Athens sprawling out around it, the rock towers above, ushering in images of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Homer. The original Olympic stadium is in the distance and the newer version even further off. Although we've been to a lot of places, the Vatican, Colosseum, the David, this reigns supreme. Without Athens there would be no Rome and without Rome everything else would be different.
And so, sitting on our hotel's rooftop terrace, enjoying my last taste of Mythos beer and the glowing Acropolis, this particular trip comes to a close.
Now it's time to start planning "Part II".
