Stop by Klenske, Ink.

Change of plans, skipped Coney Island and instead walked around the East Villiage and did some shopping. Then caught Farenheit 9/11 since we were tired of walking. Met Kara's cousin Mike and his girlfriend Shannon for dinner and "some drinks". Next thing we know we're at a sake bar and well on our way to past "a few drinks". Then we found ourselves in a scene right out of the movie "lost in translation". In a private karoke room in a Japanese bar singing (or in my case trying to sing). And of course more drinks. We were joined by friends of Mike and Shannon, all Iowans. Kara did a great version of "You're so Vain" (directed to me??) (she forgot about that song...) and "Bobby McGee". We closed the night with Mike sending us off w/ his rendition of "In A New York State of Mind". But the night didn't finish there. Although I had to remind Kara of this part the next day, we did end up at yet another bar for a night cap and a meeting of another Dubuquer. By that time it was too late to try to take the subway/train/taxi combo back to our Jersey hotel, so we crashed at Mike and Shannon's and made our way home in the morning. What a night.

And if that wasn't enough, in the middle of downtown NYC, I'm walking along and all of a sudden I hear someone yell out, "NIck Klenske?". Brian Anesty of all people. It's a small world.
