My uncle Bob hosted Thanksgiving. He lives in Roseville. It's a burb of Sac that saw huge growth during the recent housing boom and is now experiencing massive foreclosures. Mini-malls are EVERYWHERE - and they all look the same... I mean they really, really look exactly alike. Same shops, same neo-mediteranean-desert style, same "I have no idea where I am" feeling. And what's with this shade of desert-khaki that every house has been painted in during the last 5 years? I mean, it's not ugly, but goddamn, some color would be nice... and think of all the people that must get lost on their way home during the first few weeks of moving in. I'm not really concerned, just observing.

Back to T-day. It was a good turnout for the Nisonger clan - two of Dad's bros and one sister, along with their fams. I had a great chat with Aunt Patty about her plans to move to Fortuna and go agro-green - solar panels, grey water... the whole nine. I always love catching up with her.

Dad and I are playing golf each of the next two days then I'm hitting the road Sunday morning for Tahoe, where I'll spend a couple days losing at craps and watching Kaya eat snow.

I have to say it's always an adventure to read your journaling....and I can't wait to get your updates along the way - the bonus will be seeing you upon your arrival to your stay in NC with the rest of the 'clan'. We are all waiting with great anticipation to see 'uncle skittle'.
