My past memories of Grameen Bank
I visited Grameen Bank during Nov-Dec 2007 as a part of 52nd Grameen International Dialogue Program. More that 20 participants from many countries attended that program. We were sent to village branch stay during the program which helped us to thoroughly understand operations of the bank.
The dialogue program was marvellous and I learnt many good lessons. After returning from Bangladesh, we implemented certain best practices of Grameen in Nirantara's operations.
Visit Marty's Bangladesh Blog for detailed day-to-day update on Grameen Bank. I am sharing few photographs of the last visit.

Fond Memories
Hi Niranjan - what a pleasure it is to re-savor the time we shared together at Grameen which then led to our time together in India.
Your trip also brings back the fond memories of my time with BRAC and seven hour bus trip sitting alongside the Program Director of ASA.
These are each fabulous MicroFinance Institutions with somewhat differing programs - all of which are making gigantic contributions to making the world a better place and all led by great leaders.
When I too revisited Grameen at the end of my last trip - as much as I appreciate BRAC and ASA and now other great microfinance institutions that I visited in India - it does seem somewhat like returning home to revisit Grameen and think about and honor Professor Yunus.
Thank goodness that the United States now has a President whose mother was heavily involved with microfinance and who understands and appreciates and is determined to do something about the plight of those less fortunate - and leads by example.
It excites me that so much of the world is also inspired by this man - Barack Obama - who chooses to listen and lead. My own trips made it clear to me that we American's have much to learn from the great aspects of both India and Bangladesh.
Yes We Can!!!!!!!!
