Everything is pretty much the same here, accept that my Dutch colleague went back home permanently and I now have a Chinese collegue. He is okay, although he isn't completely up to date with the feminist movement! But I'll get him there soon enough. I'll probably not clue him in on the part where women can carry their own heavy bags....hihi!
Change in China in general has been the internet getting a bit more free. It probably has something to do with the Olympics coming and the criticism China is receiving from abroad. Suddenly we can access wikipedia and the bbc news website. Youtube has been stable too lately but Googlevideo is still not accesible. The news here reports about the Tibet riots too, although the view is of course different from what I hear from Europe.
In just a few days I'm going home and I am so looking forward to it now! I wasn't really for a long time but now that I'm almost going I can't wait. The Netherlands is just so different from here. Everything is smaller and closer by and quieter and normally that's why I like China so much but China and the Chinese can sometimes really get to you. So I think it will be nice and peaceful not to have to deal with it for a week or so.
Since I won't be here for my birthday my friends got me a chocolate cake and some presents and we had a small birthday/house warming party at my appartment last night. I'll add some photos and also some older one I got from my friend.
