Three of us spend a day in Dandong to break the long train journey from Pyongyang to Beijing. It is not a beautiful city and there was also not much to see but we still had a nice day there.

We started by visiting the "One step point", this is the closest you can get to North Korea in China. It is really just one step away, but I can't say it was very exciting. Near here is also starting point of the Great Wall. It was discovered in the 1990's and was completely rebuild since then.

We also went on the Old Yalu bridge, this is the bridge that has been bombed and left as is. So it just ends half way across the river. Quite a strange site and it was freezing so we didn't stay long. After a freezing boat trip we went ot visit the "Museum of War to Resist US and Aid Korea". In the rest of the world this war is mostly known as "The Korean War", I like the Chinese name though!

In the evening we took the train back to Beijing.
