PERSONAL:
I like Viña del Mar: its modern, clean and a relaxing seaside. A nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Santiago (only 2hrs away, and only 10mins from Valparaíso). Hooked up for drinks with Elaine (from the plane Sydney to Santiago). She made the best stuffed capsicums!

FACT:
Viña del Mar also known locally as La Ciudad Jardín (Spanish: "The Garden City"). Viña del Mar is Chile's largest and best known beach resort town. The city was founded in 1874 as a weekend retreat and garden residence for the wealthy elite from Valparaíso and Santiago.
Viña del Mar (The "Garden City") boasts some charming assets: horse-drawn carriages that trot past turn-of-the-century mansions on river and beach frontages and white-sand beaches. The city's gambling casino is the oldest in Chile and also the most visited and luxurious.
