John took Ash and I to a pretty happening shindig. One of the guys in John's squadron had got his packing orders and was going to Virginia. So him and his wife recvd a pretty awesome going away party from the rest of the guys in the squadron.

It was a really neat thing to see, and I'm so stoked that John took us there. It was in a high-class bar with an awesome view of Tokyo and awesome atmosphere. The guy who was leaving was obviously really choked up with how good of friends he was with the guys, and all the time that they'd spent with each other. The captain of their ship was really awesome with his speech in what a key player this guy was. Afterwards, it turned into a good roasting of him, complete with pictures of some wild drunken nights of karaoke.

Ash and I hung out with all these military guys. aahhh a fine cuban cigar in a tokyo bar
aahhh a fine cuban cigar in a tokyo bar
. which was great, but there's only one head that they think with when they get drunk and see a pretty white girl who's really flirtatious...

It was quite a phenomenon to see, Ash getting hit on or being protected by every guy in the squadron.. I don't think that anyone in John's squadron (that I met that night or one other night before) remembered my name.. the other guys, Mitts and JV, were good companions while the rest all hit on my girl.

Whatever, I know that I can totally trust her. I love that about her since I know that she's flirtatious but totally able to hold her own against these guys without leading them on.

By the end of the night, we all were trashed, and there's some speculation that they'll never allow a large group of american military guys in there again after the broken glasses, the broken hand dryer, and the large number of drunken american guys.

I had my first cuban cohiba cigar. it was beautiful. I saved the label. it was 32 bucks. I didn't buy it. Thankfully. but it was awesome.

ciao

Re: Good times
I'd imagine that if we hadn't bought them off the restaurants cigar menu (yes, they had a cigar menu) and bought it in a store, it would have been 20 bucks.. that's still a little rich for my unemployed ass.
