We're just back from a 2 day boat trip up the Mekong Delta.  It was pretty good, although a bit too touristy.  It was good to talk to all the other travelers and compare routes and place to go. They took us to see a place where they made coconut sweets and rice paper - followed by some traditional music ! We had lunch (instant noodles) and listened to 3 woman and a man sing  to us and they sounded like dead cats !  I couldn't stop laughing ! The next day we saw the floating markets.  The floating markets are impressive. A large number of people here live on the river banks and they put on a floating market in the mornings selling produce from their boats.

We were told that we would be woken up in the hotel at 6am with a knock on the door and that we had to answer 'good morning'.  When the man knocked in our door we answered, but he didn't hear us and kept knocking - we kept shouting 'GOOD MORNING!'.  We had both just showered and were stood starkers, and he proceeded to open the door ! luckily Gary had put the chain on the door, but he could see me !

We're just deciding what to do tomorrow. We've been recommended to go and see the Chu CHi tunnels - used during the war in Vietnam.  Its meant to have trap doors. Theres also a national park (Cat Tiene) where they have a rare rhinoserous, monkeys and elephants 2 hours drive away.
