there isnt a whole lot going on with me right now but thought id put in a mini-update.
despite all the best-laid plans to island-hop around thailand i actually havent managed to make it past Ko Lanta (island 2) as its just perfect here and theres really no need to go anywhere else. ive been here for 1.5 weeks now, the weather's been ace, the diving is superb and its just lovely and chilled out and theres basically no reason to go anywhere else. afew days ago on a dive out to phi phi i (in typical irish fashion) met 2 people from bray. yvonne was in school with my sister sara so i recognised her the minute she took off her sunglasses and it turns out that both she and her husband fionn know loads of the same people from bray really well so we've been meeting up for afew bevvies most nights.
for those who were in india on the drago trip, pia arrived over yesterday from railay (change of plan cos i was originally meant to be going to meet up with her). shes in great from and has been doing similar to me, just travelling around thailand and getting tanned (and also growing her hair incredibly long with the help of some cool extensions!!!) and in diving news i am as of today a qualified PADI advanced open water diver which means that instead of a meagre 18m, i can now dive to 30+m. i also took the photography dive (you can pick 3 out of about 15 different dives as part of the certification) and i am loving loving in. am going to try and post some pics with this so you can see how my talent fares (or does not, whichever the case may be!!!)
and thats about it really. id say where im going next but the plan seems to change by the day so theres no point. the latest from drago on the tibet trip (incase you were wondering) is that it is almost definately going to be re-routed through pakistan instead which is VERY exciting but im waiting for a 110% confirmation from them before i start to rejoice about anything. hope you are all well wherever in the world you may be. bye for now nic x More thumbnails ...
