Today was the day of the wedding and I was looking forward to seeing what it would be like.  It started with brunch at a nice resort where a band were playing drums and bagpipes.  We then went to the local Gurdwara (Sikh church) where the half hour ceremony took place.  The vowels were read from a book which seemed a little impersonal for a wedding, but that's probs just me.  I also thought the camera guys were being too intrusive with the whole affair; taking snaps and asking the bride and groom to pose at any opportunity during procedings.  They get paid by the photo so it's not that surprising!

After the ceremony we all headed back to the resort where the party took place.  It looked really nice; beautiful weather, secnery that included a waterfall and river plus plenty of nice food.  Before I began to eat my cuz took me to see the kitchen where they were making it. 01 - band

. and thank god he did! I won't say what it was like but let's just say it was really easy to stay clear of the meat from then on!  It's always gd to know these things before tucking in lol.  I've taken a video of the litchen am I am hoping to submit it to health & safety soon lol.

There were tears in most ppl's eyes as the bride and groom left for their honeymoon.  Me and Suv stayed on at the resort to help clear up and pay the waiters who were constantly begging for money.  Just as we were leaving we saw a guy passed out on the sofa.  We tried to sober him up and between me and Suv we worked out he was on the in laws side.  His lift wasn't going to arrive for an hour so we had to wait with him or the waiters would kick him out.  Thus, Suv asked if there was any beer left over and the waiters said it had all gone.  Then out of nowhere, the drunk guy pulled a full litre bottle of whisky which he was hiding in his crotch?!  As he shouted, 'drinks all round' in Punjabi, I fell on the floor with laughter - we all thought he was well on the road to recovery... sadly not!!

When we took him back to the in laws we had a serious crash with a bus, which sped away from the scene as it was in the wrong!  Luckily we escaped with minor injuries and the smashed up car we were using wasn't our 4x4!  I was a little shaken up, but all in all, even after that episode, I think everyone had a gd time today.
