BUENOS AIRES! Our adventure begins! After recovering from the epic journey we set off to see the city. First major tourist site is Cemetaria de Recoleta... a massive cemetary with elaborate crypts..it's like a maze of statues, shrine like houses and the odd coffin. Not as creepy as that may seem.. one of our faves is a dancing Jesus statue... or so it may seem. Jesse vs pyramid. Not just a playground for kids.. Jesse wins hooray! Interesting cafe times when the table is set with cutlery and crayons. After a little siesta in the park we go onwards to Florida Av. No shopping for us, for we are not a rich, but we admire the busking tango dancers, Peruvian musos and a random man who appeared to be being blown away with his coat, tie and umbrella flailing in the air.
Next day Camerita, La Boca. another fail at trying to buy a bus ticket as the man waves for us to just sit. Camerita is a strip with brightly coloured houses, tourist targeted market stalls, buskers and restaurants
Upon recommendation of Teleri's Mum we make a visit to El Ateneo, a big bookshop which was converted from a theatre. Is amazing with paintings on the roof, several tiered stories and of course the stage which is a cafe. ¿Quanto questa la torta?
Getting used to wandering around the city. We're right near Av de Julio which is a massive 11 laned road where you dash across each section when the man goes white. Juggling boys and men selling beach balls come running out as the lights go red to try and sell their goods. Nice, cafes, tasty food, friendly people and a grid like set up of the streets in the city make it nice to wander around. Empanadas .. tasty little pasty like things are win! Of course being a backpackers there are many people to meet.
Have decided to do a Spanish course for a couple of weeks. So shall hang about whilst Teleri and The Prawn go onwards to Bariloche and beyond until the full Rock Lobster team is reunited in Chile.
Love from Buenos Aires!

Siesta in le park
. Despite being an epic tourist trap it's alot of fun, high energy and lots to see. We buy a few bits of jewellery and an apron for young Jesse. Head out to a bar, Milion a three story bar which is nice to just chill. The barman laughs at Tez and my failed attempt to order random drinks.Upon recommendation of Teleri's Mum we make a visit to El Ateneo, a big bookshop which was converted from a theatre.
