Trey here........
We rolled into Douglas for a visit, and to have a shorter drive down to Cumberland tomorrow. My friend Rose was kind enough to put us up for the night and fed us some of her homemade spaghetti sauce, YUMMY!
G and I made ourselves useful by pitching in here and there. One of the biggest tasks is cleaning up the back porch and dog run for Rose's son's dog "Lucky". Bobby (her son) is one of my dearest oldest friends and it is a task of joy to feel as though I am helping him and Rose out. Lucky is such a sweetie too, but he has a hard time with the heat and humidity of south Georgia. Short story; he has a unique odor and we had Lucky on our mind for a day or two.
We also were able to get to my buddy Steve's folks place and have a great visit. It was represented another "old friends" checked in on. Blessing after blessing. For such a short time available I was able to see most of my "tribe" in the area. I am grateful. It is amazing though to see a place so familiar to me in the past be so changed in the present. It surprises me over and over how time can age so many things while passing right over me, right?
