so i've meaning to write a new blog entry but i'm afraid i couldn't. turns out, friday wasn't only a very eventful day because of all the sight-seeing but also because i got sick. it was really strange. i was exhausted and grumpy the day before but still felt fine. and then friday night i just suddenly came down with something. i felt really sick to my stomach and just couldn't figure out why. well, i'll spare you the details but let's just say i stayed home in bed on saturday, very weak and very very dehydrated. i'm still recovering but i'm thinking tomorrow i should be fine again. just shouldn't overdue it. so mom, no worries. :) joel took care of me.
so, that's the reason why i couldn't blog earlier even though i really really wanted too.. so let me tell you what we did on friday!

friday morning we got up a little earlier and took the train to batu caves. the batu caves are caves in a mountain in the northern part of Kuala Lumpur. the hindus have built several shrines and temples around and in the caves. over 200 steps lead to the top shrines, where hindus, tourists and monkeys mingle. :) honestly, there are so many monkeys there it is CRAZY! there were even some baby monkeys. soooo cute! :) - after that i got a henna tattoo on one of my hands and then we went to klcc, where we had an amazing lunch. unfortunately i can't talk about that cause it makes me feel queezy. maybe it was the lunch's fault that i got sick. meh, who knows. anyhow, in the afternoon we went to aquaria. aquaria is a zoo for fish, etc. unlike the horrible butterfly park (did i write about that? horrible horrrrrribbbbble park where more butterflies lie dead on the ground instead of flying around) it is very nice. there is a touch pond where you can touch a weird sort of crab, starfish, sea cucumber and a bamboo shark. looove the starfish!! and also the shark. so interesting to feel them. :) if only it wasn't so horrible to keep them caged like that.. i would get a starfish too. they're so cute and funny and fascinating! and they don't smell and they don't make a lot of noise. :D at aquaria they also had a whole bunch of rainforest insects which were also very interesting. what i loved most though was the part where you had to step on this thing that moved and led you through an aquarium. well through a tube really. and you coul see to both sides and above your head. there were turtles, sharks, sting ray, eel, and many many many different kinds of fish. it was so beautiful and calming! i'm beginning to understand why people love diving so much. the sights are spectacular and breathtaking! loooved the sharks! big badass guys with 3 rows of teeth looking all dangerous. :) beautiful animalf! even though i don't really want to meet face to face with one that size. now imagine if the megalodon would still exist.. eeek.. supersize shark.. no thanks.. but the bamboo shark i could be friends with! :D they had this small educational section about sharks.. well bamboo sharks really.. and there was one egg where you could already see the little guy twitching and swimming inside his egg, gettng ready to hatch.. :)

anyways, that's what we did friday before everything went downhill for me. saturday i stayed at the hostel while joel went to bukit bintang where one of the biggest shopping malls is. it's called times square and it is huge! it even has a recreational park inside. crazy crazy.

this morning we had to get up early to fly to yogyakarta. our shuttle picked us up at 4.00 am in the morning. baad choice. i was so weak still from the days before that it really was quite difficult to even just stand up straight. really made me appreciate yet again that i'm not travelling alone!!! i don't know what i would've done. now we're just hanging out at a resto in yogya and waiting until we can check in. you wouldn't believe how cheap the food is here. i mean malaysia is already cheap compared to switzerland. but in comparison with indonesia, it is almost ridiculously expensive!!!!!! indonesia, i like you already!! :)

anyhow, that's it from my side. sorry i made you read another endless blog entry. i know i write waaaay too much but you can always skip a few paragraphs. ;)

love, <3
