wow, so, another day has passed. a good but long day! it's tough here - we all work a lot of hours! i know it sounds incredible, especially because school is out at 1pm but after that it's lunch, meeting with my coach and then a couple of hours of preparation and going over things and then it's 6pm already. also, i'm starving all the time! the heat and the long hours make me sooo hungry! i could eat a monkey! :D but it is fun. and i really like how there are different parts to each day. there's the lessons i teach, the ones i assist, and time to myself.  it also really helps that joel is here. i am soooo greatful, that i don't have to go through this experience alone. we are basically neighbours now so we spend a lot of time together planning and preparing. and every now and then we jump in the pool. but it's just really great how we can share the workload. i still think that he is doing more cause he has a few subjects that i'm not teaching. in turn i've prepared all the german and math lessons which is about 11 lessons a week which is about half of the lessons i teach. so that's fair enough. but now let me tell you about my day.
the first two lessons i just had to sit in and assist. the class had arts and crafts where the prepared their pirate accessories for the big summer night event on june 21st. it's this huge event that everyone is super excited for. after that i did english with them which was amazing. we looked at spelling and grammar inductively.. (--> reflect THAT my phz friends! haha) and i had them do an explorers (grade 6) exercice which most of them did with little to no difficulty. i told them that they should really think about whether they were up for the challenge of figuring out the task themselves.. and since almost of all of them are very ambitious i had very very little explaining to do. and mind you, the sheets i've received so far aren't bad at all! also, thank you leo! i tried out that picture drawing thing where you add something and they have to figure out what it is. i had them write down sentences with verbs in past tense since we reviewed the spelling of verbs in past tense.. after that was recess and then math. well geometry to be precise. i love teaching geometry! seriously! so much fun. we started a new topic about circles etc. i didvided the class in two groups and had one of them on an explorer's task (they had to find, draw and name circular objects around the school building).. and the others worked in the classroom. after 10-15 minutes they switched. and leeeet meee tell you! the groups outside went crazy with the task! i asked them to find at least three objects and they found up to 25!!! i was very proud and surprised! after school we had a meeting with the primary school teachers.. and now, now i'm sitting at home, finished marking the sheets from English class and still needing to read through tomorrows preparation and analyse songs for the gugge.. and all i want now is to have someone massage my feet (i was standing and walking all day and i'm so not used to it anymore..) and a good night's sleep.. zzzzZZZZ

alrighty then kids, be safe and enjoy the apparently warm day.. or so i've heard from my personal source. ;)
