Barely slept last night, my body clock is a mess. Still got up earlyish and down for breakfast before walking to Union Square to catch my bus. First stop Haight-Ashbury, the area famed for the hippy movement. Really enjoyed just wandering around - cool vintage shops and cafes, street art, actual old-school hippies! Lots of them.

The more I see and do here, the more I think San Fran is a bigger version of Bristol - a famous suspension bridge, steep hills, good music scene, hippies.. It also has quite a small feel about it for a city.

To the bus and back to Golden Gate Bridge to get some pictures. Have been really lucky with the weather, it's usually hidden in fog and both days it's been perfectly clear and sunny. The view is stunning, especially when you cross over to the other side and can see both the bridge and city skyline.

Went back to the city, stopped to go and see the most crooked street in the world. I had to climb a near vertical street to get to it! Worth it though, it's essentially a massively steep street with big drops, so big that when a car or tram goes over them, it looks like they've disappeared. Might try and go on one of the trams before I leave. I love in this place how you get to the end of a block, look between the buildings and there's just vertical road. It's really cool.

Went back to Union Square to do something my lovely friend Jamie Lynch recommended - The Cheesecake Factory. It's a restaurant at the top of Macy's that specialises in all kinds of amazing cheesecakes! I opted for a classic baked slice along with a blueberry mojito. Both were amazing. The mojito went to my head a little and I found myself a bit tipsy when I got back to the streets! Tried going into a couple of shops but couldn't handle it so headed back to the hostel for a lie down.. Which actually I needed.

2 hours later I felt much better. I cooked myself some dinner before heading to get ready for the night - hostel pub crawl. I'd briefly met my roommate Laura (from Newcastle) the night before who had signed up so we headed down together. We got taken to some random bars and a pretty rubbish club but spent the night talking to some cool people. Crazily, I started talking to a girl called Abbie before we even reached the first bar, she's from Aberystwyth, also works in TV and in Bristol! And we even know some of the same people - how mental is that! Fun night.
