Entry 1 of 82 | show all | print this entry

There is a ridiculous amount of stuff still in my flat and an ever shrinking amount of space in which to store it. Just goes to show, I should have listened to my mother and packed more things to go up to my brothers the weekend before. (Apologies for the lack of apostrophes, its my computer illiteracy not my grammar - all I can get is curly brackets{).

I knew the things I had laid out for packing were too many and had prepared myself to only take half of them, after all its just 7 months from sea level to 6000m, beach to jungle, not a weekend in Wales (Dave!). But having done all of that my rucksack will still only just shut. I decide to bring 5 books as I can´t choose which to leave behind - I´ll have to read quickly and jettison them a.s.a.p. So there¨s only one thing for it: the hairdryer, curling tongs and travel iron will have to stay behind.

(Have now found the apostrophe on the key above the one it is marked on, but it is temperamental, appearing at times as speech marks.)

Finally at 1.30 a.m. the storage, and the rucksack, are packed to the rafters and I turn in for 3 hours kip before the taxi turns up.

So thanks to those who praised me for my organisational skills, but YOU ARE ALL WRONG!!!
