Hi, hope everyone is ok at home.
Today the weather was a wee bit overcast ( thats because its south Australia, but then saying that Lesley had said that it had done nothing but rain since I left last week!) but it didn't dampen the spirits as 1) us girls still had chocolate 2)we knew that it would hack "Healthy living Ted" off by us eating it therefore we had some entertainment on the bus and 3)today was going to take us to the bit of the trip that I was most looking forward to - the start of the Great Ocean Road.
But, yep you guessed it, we were up at 8am again and on another morning trek at a place called Tower Hill, which was just outside Beachport. It was jam packed full of Kangaroos and Koalas and the odd scary looking Emu wandering around. After said trek were able to spend a bit of time there just wandering about - there was a fair bit to look at.
It was a long drive to the coast but gave plenty of opportunity to just sit and stare at the amazing countryside. Even though the weather wasn't all that, it was still spectacular, and it seemed like every corner you turned was prettier than the last. The part of the Great Ocean Road that I wanted to see ( like many others I suppose) was the 12 Apostles. It said to be 1 of the worlds most spectacular coastal drives, and it is. It literally takes your breath away. You see pictures of it in books but you cant appreciate the stunning scenery until you actually see it. Seeing it in the day time was amazing, so I would think that seeing it at sunrise or sun set would be pretty fab too. Had the opportunity to see it by helicopter which was totally surreal but absolutely fantastic. Don't worry will bore you all senseless with the photos !!!
The weather was really now starting to get a bit damp and miserable, and there was a fair bit of a drive left before we got to that nights stop over at Apollo bay ( which is such a cool place - bet it would be good in the summer!), but before we got there we were taken to a rainforest in the Otway Ranges......for a walk......Ted was loving it, we weren't, we had ran out of chocolate by then.
Had dinner, found a pub, played pool ( very badly )and got absolutely drenched walking back in the rain. This is the girl who didn't bring a coat with her.....numpty!!
Crease factor a very poor 4 out of 10 - not hp.
Only a couple of days then I will have a nice bed to sleep in and a bath......God, I have not had a bath for an age ( have showered in between though ha ha ha) Dreamt about nice white fluffy towels last night......
See Liverpool won too.....happy girl, bet Harry K looked stunning as normal......
