We wandered around the town for 2 hours on a guided tour with Greg, an Australian guy whose been living here and running one of the towns only hostels. Visited some of the many churches, looked at many monuments and statues and just got a great feel for this relaxed and peaceful little place - so nice to not be surrounded by loads of tourists in somewhere so picturesque. And it's so cheap here!
After lunch we came back to the hostel and sorted out our plans for the last few days in Eastern Europe. Sam's Mum had freaked her out about the rash that had broken out all over her body and she asked Greg if it was easy to get to a doctor here. She showed him the rash on her arms and he told her it was definitely bed bugs - just as we'd suspected
We went for another wander around the town and to see the inside of Saint Wenceslaus' Cathedral. In true Nicky and Sam style, we got lost trying to get into it and ended up walking all around the base of the mamouth structure and by the time we found our way back up to the top it was too late and it had closed. We decided instead, to go to a highly recommended cafe and try some of its famous chocolate pie. It was pretty damn good!
We came back to the hostel and spent the evening sitting in the lounge room chatting to and hanging out with Greg and others staying here. Such an awesome lounge room to just sit and relax in - for me it was all part of the great experience of being here! A group of them were heading out to a big soccer match that was happening - qualifiers for the Euro league with Sigma versus Aberdeen. There were loads of Scots in town and they were here for one reason! I was a little tempted to go but we decided to stay in and chill out instead in our lovely oasis.
