We arrived in Karumba and were keen to start fishing but we had to set up first..
In the arvo we walked down to the beach to fish and the problem here is that you need to stand back from the water at least 2 metres from the edge for the crocs will have their eyes on you and would love to have you for dinner. The kids needed a reminder now and then but we are still here with all the parts of our bodies that we walked down there with LOL..Daniel caught a few Bream and Grunter. Emily caught her first fish (bream) and brought it in by herself.
Over the time that we have been here we have fished alot and thrown back fish as they are small.
We did get to keep a few. There is a cheeky Pelican here everyday ready to eat your bait and any fish that he may receive from you. Emily got a fright when the Pelican decided he wanted Emily for a meal.. it scared her
The van parks here are like sardines all squashed in. We ended up in the spot next to the fish cleaning area and everyone thought that it was the worst spot but it was great. It never really smelt and we got to see the fish come through that got caught that day. They said we could have another spot but we wanted the spot we were in. The fish that came in Barra, Queenies, Bream,
Mullet, Salmon, Jew fish, Grunters and probably others that we missed while fishinng.
We have some wallabies that come near us in the afternoon that the girls love to watch.
This place is really only for people who love to fish fish and fish more. Oh and bring a boat it would be alot better to get out on the ater to fish more out there further.
The sunsets here are awesome...
We are about to leave this fishing town and head for our next destination ??????????
