What I did
Goodes BBQ Ltd.
River Oaks cinema on Kirby is a quaint old independent cinema that makes you feel like you just went back a few decades before things were slick and worked properly. The attendent dressed as Doc Brown from Back-to-the-Future had a big part in this, coupled with the fact that you coould hear the film next door playing during the quiet bits! -
Food - popcorn, hotdogs and nachos!
Things moved up a notch Saturday night with the most amzing Sushi from UniSushi in the Woodlands. The sushi and sashimi is all you will ever want to eat and if you only try one thing (which you won't) then try the angry dragon, yellowtail, jalapenos and cilantro in nori, rolled in habanero tobiko and ponzu sauce washed down with some unfiltered saki (snow maiden) - it makes for a good night
New Word Alert - Cilantro - this really was a new word to me, we all know about sidewalk and garbage and gas but cilantro???? turns out it is corriander, cilantro is the leaf and corriander the seed or the other way around.
Sunday lunch was courtesy of Goodes BBQ - recon for our upcoming house warming Texas BBQ (more about that nearer the time).
The weekend was capped off at our first NBA game, Houston Rockets vs LA Clippers (not the lakers) and yes there are two LA teams. Great game, really close, went to Extra time, lots of cheering, stupid amount of cheerleaders, an hilarious mascot who kept steeling peoples' shoes and hiding them around the court and some fancy dunks and 3 pointers. The commentators are completly biased almost spitting the names of the opponet scorers and then when the Rockets score you'd think they jsut dhot the winning basket at the Olympic final!!!! I love the American competative spirit, all is fair in love and war and sport! New Word Alert - Awesomeness - to be awessome or to convey the joy at being in an awesome situation.....
