Where I stayed
What I did
on our way to Baton Rouge we pass through a town called Clinton so of course we stop to get photos of Clinton in Clinton haha. Something we have noticed on our travels is that no matter how small the town is the banks are huge!!
We have decided to head to the zoo when we get to Baton Rouge and as Deb needs a new hat I visit my very first Walmart. What this place doesn't have isn't worth mentioning and so cheap! I got L'Oreal foundation and a powder for $12 each, this is usually $30 each in Oz. we get our purchases and into the car and off to the zoo.
The Zoo is pretty awesome and takes us hours to walk around which is what we need after being in the car the last day and a half
We book into The Belle Hotel and Casino for the night, it is right of the river. It has to be on the river to have the casino as Casinos are not allowed in this state, the casino is a boat that sits on the river therefore is not part of the state land, now isn't that clever! After a really great pizza for dinner we head through the walkways that connect the hotel to the riverfront and then the river front to the casino, it's amazing step on board as you wouldn't even know you're on a boat. I watch Clinton and Ron for ages playing Black Jack at the tables trying to figure out how it all works while the other try their hand at the slots. Eventually only Clint and I are left from our group and as I sit at the table watching Clint hands me 5 chips and tells me to play, I have never done this before so do not have very high hopes of winning.
Before long and with the help of the dealer and fellow players I have turned my $25 into $60 I am having fun playing and of course keep playing my winnings down until Clint and I have one chip each left and with one last bet we are ready to all away (he has already cashed in $100 earlier so has made a profit so we have nothing to lose at this point). What do you know we both win but are ready to leave so we put our last four chips on one bet but we 21 straight up and win again. We now have $50 and with a $5 tip to the dealer walk away with another $45. With free drinks all night while playing Clint is much more under the weather than I so is an entertaining walk but to the hotel rooms lol. Its 2am by this stage and a great night had by all and now I want to play black jack again haha, we are told there is a better floating casino in New Orleans... Uh oh!
