The next morning we all woke at 8! Lovely night’s sleep, I think we’re all over the jet lag now (may have been the beers).  Socks decided to come into the campervan to spend breakfast with us. After much mewing, we gave Socks some cheese… whoa, you’ve never seen a kitten move so fast! After convincing Socks to leave the van, we set off for 10.  Mum’s riding in the back today which means, oh yeah - Fang and I are up front! Much more interesting up here.  Today we’re trucking back down to Auckland.  So we’ll see if the Kiwi’s were right in their suggestion that ‘the West coast isn’t up to much’! We stopped for lunch at a very dreich-looking Ruakaka beach and travelled through ‘Bryn Derwen’ - unfortunately missing the photo op at the sign though.  We drove past ‘Sheep World’ where Helen and I saw a field of about 20 sheep, 3 of which were bright pink! Poor things.
We have stopped for the night in Takapuna campsite just outside of Auckland. Very pretty views across the bay, but quite expensive. We’re going to see Eclipse tonight, fun fun!
