Hi there, right i am writing this on Easter Sunday (I hope you all had a lovely time) iha ve to recap on my last week then will start to talk about the amazing place of Mendoza in Argentina.
So in brief we went to Curico for the wine festival. Upon arrive we made three friends straight away at the hostel. Josh from the states (near Chicago i think) who was on a 13mth trip and spoke perfect Spanish. We also met a French couple called Alexandra and Christoph. josh had been way down south in Patagonia (he has given me some pictures of the blue glaciers which are awesome) the other 2 had done our trip in reverse so gave lots of helpful advice.
Being at an wine festival with 2 French people was a stroke of luck but Alexandra was also from Chablis. She told us all about the St Vincent wine festival in January which we will have to go to some day. They were well able to advise us on the wine and at 50p a go with all the valley´s vineyards there, we were well experienced ourselves by the end of the 3 DAY event if you know what i mean!!
The wine festival was a big deal in the town with lots of music on several stages from bands new and old. they had grape stomping competitions and a beauty contest which included a bikini round!!! We all had a tremendous time and shared e-mail addresses to keep in touch.
on sunday it was then up to the beach resort of Vina del mar.
