Show trip route
Wanting to show her everything I see and do here, we walked up, down and across Manhattan (I lost 2-3 lbs, mind ya) from morning to night.
Saturday, however, that day/afternoon was dedicated to a ferry ride out to Governor's Island, just south of the city, where a 20s era party was being thrown outdoors complete with live music, a dance floor and other festivities. We met up in costume with Rachel and (other) Nina from work, along with some other girls I was just meeting.
Had an incredible time and got some both beautiful and fun photos to share, including this video of us watching some of the dancers perform:
The rest of the day was spent trolling Chinatown for "deals," and an authentic Chinese meal, eventually returning back to my apartment for rooftop drinks (quite pooped out)
Sunday, we toured all my favorite parts of Central Park (put in a few hours there) before exploring Times Square for t-shirts (gotta awesome NYFD shirt for myself & Sarah got a caricature drawn) and gradually seating ourselves along Avenue of the Americas with a shared cupcake for some people watching -- like old times.
Finished up the day back in Central Park (in the rain) for pictures and then a night watching movies in my apartment (feet had to rest).
Had no idea I'd miss her company so much until after she left. My small apartment, while cozy, and surrounded by a gigantic people-packed city, does feel lonely at times. So happy she had the chance to come up :)
Enjoy the pictures!
