Up early again and packing up. This time we were driving out of the van park at about 9am - stopped at a Caltex service station to take on petrol and check the air in the tyres. Then down the Barham road. The country is mainly flat with farming, dried up creeks and some trees. We crossed the Murray at Barham, with Koondrook on the Victorian side. We joined the Murray Valley Highway at Kerang and had soon reached Swan Hill. The Van Park is on the highway - lots of truck noise as they slow down to deliver cattle to the sale yards across the road from here. This is probably the nicest park, even if noisy, that we had been in. Wide spacious sites beside each ensuite block - room for the van with awning raised and the car beside. Clynton - you would have disowned me, as I stuffed up reversing into the site. Somehow misjudged when to start following the van into the site, and ended up across the site. Once stuffed up, it is difficult to recover, and finally, I was able to line it up and backing straight in - even that was not easy because the "lines and angles" were all strange. So, sorry Clynton. But at least, I knew I should be able to do it, and persevered until it was done satisfactorily.
That took a bit of the stuffing out of me, so for the rest of the day, I just relaxed, investigated the wireless network available in the park (at a fairly hefty charge rate). Dinner was left-overs from the last couple of meals - tasty and filling.
