Another sleep in - on these very cold mornings, this is the best place to be. We had a frost over night, and the previously black Escape (my 4wd) was white. Finally when we got going, we drove into town to see where the Rice Mill was, and if it were possible that the rice train went there and not the train yards - it does, so I guess we will have to have another look tomorrow.
I checked out the library to see where I can load up this stuff to the blog, and we took the Forrest Drive - we had obtained a map from the visitor centre. This drive comprises various dirt tracks through the forest close to the Edwards river - it starts almost in the centre of town, but once on it, you could be miles for anywhere. After a while of going down some windy, bumpy, narrow, not so good tracks, we decided we had seen enough of the forest, and retraced our tyre tracks. We drove about looking at the other caravan parks to see what they looked like, but have concluded we chose the right one
Now I am writing this, and Ted is sitting outside in the sun reading, which I hope to do in a moment. Now have just come back inside as the cold night air is starting to outweigh the warmth of the sun. Just sitting and listening, and sometimes watching the road trains and B-doubles race up and down this Cobb Highway which runs just outside the van park is quite awesome.
Dinner tonight will be tuna wraps (I hope - new recipe), and tomorrow I will go into town to load this stuff to the blog. We are staying here an extra day to enable Ted to watch the Motogp which is televised on Monday morning this time.
