We headed into town to take care of some chores - bills, and other stuff. Then we headed for the Peppin Heritage Centre. This contains a museum depicting the contribution of the Peppins to the Merino sheep development in Australia - this took place in the 1800s on a station just north of here at Wanganella. We spent an hour or so in the museum, which was extremely well presented. The museum also features stories about irrigation and the River system of Australia.
Part of the centre contains both the visitors centre and a café. We decided to have a coffee at the café, but after consulting the menu, and looking at the time, we decided to have lunch. We both decided on corned silverside, which is a favourite of both of us, and which I have not done on the trip, as I reckon it would use up too much gas in the van. I have to say that the café's offering was just about the best silverside I have ever tasted.
After lunch we did exciting stuff like supermarket shopping and I tried to follow up about my phone battery, but the local mobile phone place could not find a supplier in Sydney who could supply a battery.
Dinner was a very think vegetable soup and bread rolls, following our big meal at lunchtime.
