We did not have far to go today, and we managed the pack down fairly quickly. No problems traveling along and we pulled into the park in Korumburra about 11am. This is a lovely little park, with lots of trees - shelter from the wind. Not only that, it is in a deep valley, and it is so calm, it is like coming home.
We erected the van, had lunch and took, a quick trip around town. The local folk we spoke to were all rather upset about the plans for the changes to the Coal Creek Heritage Village - they are going to get rid of most of the buildings and make a public park and small museum. It will be a real shame. There is a rally and demonstration scheduled for Sunday. We went to the Visitors Centre and also to the nearby town of Loch - a lovely little village. We browsed a couple of Antique stores and talked to the owner about the railway we would be traveling on Sunday. We thought we had to come here to catch the train, but later found we had misread the time table, and could start from Korumburra. We spent the rest of the afternoon playing several bracing games of Tri-onimos - we can hardly get any TV reception here at all - just enough to manage watching the news but nothing else. We need to investigate why our TV antenna isn't helping - another job on the list for when we get home. We are down to the pointy end of our travels, and time to start using up some of the left overs, so dinner was meat balls, bolognaise sauce, pasta and veggies. I have found that the little freezer has enough space to us, as long as I plan well.
