Getting Started
Entry 1 of 13 | show all | print this entry |
As a new inexperienced vanner, I was more than just nervous as we started out - what if the brake controller isn't set right (like the last few times), what if I can't get the van into the site in the caravan park? So it was an exhausting first day, but as it turned out, all went OK. We are here in our site, booked in until next Monday. Overnight, it rained and rained - woke me up many times during the night. Lovely rain!! For those who have not seen our van - it is what some call a camper trailer the bottom half looks like a caravan (or trailer if in the U.S.). The top half winds up to expand into a full sized van, and each end pulls out into a bed - as brother and sister, we each have our own private sleeping quarters. The rest of the van is a very nicely set out with a very nice kitchen area containing a fridge, stove and microwave and plenty of cupboard space. The other end was the table and bench lounges fully equipped with air conditioner and the place where we set up our TV and DVD/VCR. Very comfortable, although a bit of work to set up each time you move the van.
