I bet I have written the most for someone who has yet to leave the country. Well, its here! In a few short hours, Bridget and I are taking off to London. I have checked the weather, and our trip should be getting warmer and warmer the further east we go. London will be a balmy 65, and Paris about 73...By the time we get to Parma, it should be about 85. I am so ready for warm weather, since it seems like as soon as we get a nice day, we can expect about 5 cold days here in Chicago.

So, David and I spent the day getting some last minute purchases out of the way. I got the ugliest picture taken since the passport picture fiasco of 2000. This one is for my international student ID card, so at least I won't have to deal with it for the next 10 years. I also got an adapter for plugs, and a new picture card for my camera. So, I guess I am ready to go. I did realize, though, at 5pm on this Sunday afternoon, that I never ever thought about travelers checks. I sure hope they take visa debit cards every where I go. And I hope Bridget has some cash for tips until I can get some!

I have to admit to being a little nervous about this trip. Most is nervous anticipation, some is due to the fact that I have never been out of the country for this long, and what if Nico grows some and I miss it? I am worried that I didn't say goodbye to everyone, and that my luggage will get lost, or worse, that I won't be able to lift it since I filled it with shoes, books and curlers. But, mostly, is this the right thing? I know a lot of people don't understand the plans I have made for myself this summer, but it feels so right...But, hey, no one said what is right is easy, and more to the point, the ticket is bought, and I am going. So, wish me a safe flight...
