Left the hostel and Banff after a yummy pancake breakfast. We needed to fill up the car with petrol and noticed the Shell station next to the hostel was ridiculously cheap so we filled up thinking we'd got a sweet deal! Turns out the closer we got to Calgary the cheaper the petrol got. I then remembered we were in Alberta and ofcourse Alberta is the oil province so no surprise petrol was so cheap compared to anywhere else we'd been.
Just about made it on time to hand the car back (and 1109km or 689.1miles later) and find our check in counter for Westjet airlines. We had such a lovely attendent check us in and he was so friendly! We thought that he would be the highlight of the flight experience. How we wrong!
Got on our flight and during the security/safety briefing one of the male flight attendants asked us to help out with the demonstration. He was ofcourse joking but we did hold the props for him as he did it. He said as a thank you he would buy us a drink (because you had to pay for food and drink). So he told the the lady bringing around drinks to give us what we wanted. We ordered 2 gin and sprites and as the lady gave it to us she was like "oh gosh I wanna join your party". So cute! Haha
They were so much fun and continued to be lots of fun throughout the flight which made it seem shorter. Jess and I also completed our first ever crossword - proud moment.
Our flight stopped in Toronto to allow passengers off and more to come on. The Trinidad and Tobago Youth Rugby team strolled on the flight which was a lovely addition to our journey to Ottawa. I overheard one of them saying there was an international tournament in Ottawa this weekend. Clearly we chose a good weekend to come visit.
At the airport we were greeted by Courtney and Erin with a cute lil poster! It's so good to see them and so far being back in Ottawa feels like I never left! I think its gonna be hard to leave again. :(
