Today we woke up early as we had a 9am tour booked for Alcatraz! Buuuuut we were late and missed the ferry so we were put on standby for the next one which was lucky!

Alcatraz was fascinating! It was such a beautiful place with amazing views of San Fran! And the government has done a really great job with keeping the prison in good shape and turning it into a museum!

The whole island really reminded me of Shutter Island for some reason - not sure why? But yeah I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting San Fran!

After we got back to the mainland we had to quickly go to the airport to return the car but we kinda decided we wanted to keep the car so when we got to the airport we just asked and the guy said that we can just keep it and return it in San Diego no problem which was great for us!

We headed back downtown and had a wander round Pier 39 and had some lunch at Bubba Gump's - yep Forrest Gump love! It was really great and with lots of stuff from the movie dotted around the place! I'd recommend it to everyone that loves the movie!

After lunch we just had a walk around the pier and we got to see the sea lions! They were massive! The beasts! So that was pretty cool!

We started our journey to Sacramento - it only took about an hour and a half which was good! We were too tired to do anything so we just made a trip to the infamous Walmart and bought a few bottles of wine and snacks and went back to the room to munch on junk and watch a movie!
