NUREMBURG day trip

The day went as expected-pretty well. I got an early start so I could be off to Nuremburg and back to Munich in time for din-din with Candice and Kris for our last night together. After my arrival, I made it to the tourist office to get fast directions to the third Reich sites, and then to the Christmas Market (which doesn't officially start until the 25th, but there are many stands up right now and I wanted to find some gingerbread).
The documentation center of the Nazi history was fascinating. Absolutely the best history museum/documentary museum I have been to in my life. There were artifacts, photographs, movies, sound boxes, and lots of models and diagrams of the entire history. I should be an expert on this info now, but it's so much information that you would have to ask specifics and I would regurgitate, cause it's way too much to summarize. If there are any Q's let me know.
The center was located in the old Kongresshal, which is where Hitler used to hold many rallies and give speeches. It looks like the modern version of the coliseum, and after going through the museum, I found out that was intentional.
The only site I photographed was this hall because the other sites were a whole-day's worth walking, and by the time I got out of the museum it was about2pm. I have enough of the inside and out to work with-it will be okay.
After the museum I headed back to town to experience today's Nuremburg that isn't still living in the past of the Nazi party. This place is very small town, old and traditional. The feeling was of being stuck in the medieval times... the architecture is tight and close to the earth, with lots of cobblestone streets and street lamps that make you wish is was snowing all year round. When you look at those Victorian pictures of Christmas, it looks exactly like Nuremburg with snow-soooooo cute! I took some pics of unfinished market, and the streets that all start to look the same after a few pictures.
I got some shopping for the family done here, and then I finished early so I caught a 4:30 train back to Munich for din-din with the Canas. There they were waiting for me in the kitchen as planned! I heated up my leftovers and provided the table with some good Russian chocolate, and they cooked up some steak and Frankfurters for their meal-I was just a little jealous, but my beefers were really good too. I needed iron, and this was a pretty good source.
We were really sad to part, but every good story must come to an end sometime. It's better left on a good note rather than being dragged out to the point where the experience can be spoiled somehow, you know? I am just glad that this trip was so much fun, and that by fate Kris, Candice, and I met and hit it off right away. What good times-and I really hope they come to visit. I will make sure to keep in touch-plus I have some pics I want to send out to them too!
My train for Paris departed at 8:50 and is expected to arrive at 7am. It did. I was tired. Sleep was good.
